THE CHANGES OF THE POPULATION

The population of a place is all the people who live there.

We divide the population by age in:

• Children: people with less than 16
• Adults: people between 16and 64 years old.

• Old people: people with 65 years old or more.

The population can increase or decrease. It depends on:

• The birth rate is the number of born people. It

increases the population.

• The death rate is the number of people that have died. It decreases the population.

• Immigration is the people that come from another

country to live here. It increases the population.

• Emigration is the people that leave our country to live in another. It decreases the population.
